Revitalisasi Ekonomi Lokal Melalui Penguatan UMKM Pengrajin Atap Rumbia: Analisis Kelayakan Usaha dan Strategi Pemberdayaan di Gampong Bunghu, Aceh Besar

This study aims to analyze the feasibility and development strategy of the Rumbia (sago palm) leaf roofing material business as a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in Bunghu Village, Kuta Malaka District, Aceh Besar Regency. The partner community faces challenges such as limited market access, lack of product innovation, and conventional management systems, despite the high ecological and thermal value of their products compared to modern metal roofing. Utilizing the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, this service activity focuses on the discovery and design phases to map local assets and formulate business strategies. Data was collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with key artisans, specifically focusing on the production model of Ibu Intan. The results indicate that the Rumbia roofing business is financially viable with a positive revenue-cost ratio, offering significant potential for creating a sustainable local economy if supported by digital marketing and government intervention for industrial scalability. The social impact includes preserving local wisdom and empowering women as the primary economic drivers in the village. This research concludes that traditional craftsmanship, when integrated with modern management and marketing strategies, can transform into a competitive economic sector that supports both community welfare and environmental sustainability.
